The exact procedure we run on every refurbished phone before it gets listed — 41 documented checkpoints, battery health measurement, cosmetic scoring, and the final Like New / Excellent / Good grade decision. Total time: about 45 minute( second(s)).
Step 1 — Intake + ownership verification: Every incoming device is logged with its serial number, IMEI, and trade-in provenance. We verify against the CEIR (India government) blacklist database — any device on the blocked / stolen list is rejected and never enters saleable inventory.
Step 2 — Battery health measurement: iPhone: read Maximum Capacity from Settings → Battery Health. Android: read via manufacturer diagnostics or third-party diagnostic tools. Cycle count is also logged. Floor thresholds: Like New ≥95% iPhone / ≥90% Android, Excellent ≥90%, Good ≥85%. Below 85% the device is rejected from saleable inventory.
Step 3 — Cosmetic inspection — front, back, frame: Inspected under bright direct-angle light at arm's length and under magnification. Like New = no visible marks at arm's length. Excellent = micro-scratches visible only under direct light. Good = visible scratches without magnification, no cracks, light dents tolerated.
Step 4 — Display + camera verification: All 6 display checks (dead pixels, bleed, colour accuracy, max brightness, touch response, refresh consistency) are run. Camera sensors are tested at multiple distances + lighting conditions. Any failure routes the device to repair-or-reject queue.
Step 5 — Biometrics + 41-point functional pass: Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint sensor verified. SIM tray, speakers, microphones, charging, wireless charging (where supported), all buttons, gyroscope / accelerometer / proximity sensor, GPS lock, all bands of cellular radio, WiFi 2.4 + 5 GHz, Bluetooth — every one of the 41 checkpoints must pass.
Step 6 — Grade assignment + Certification Card: Technician reviews all measurements + photos and assigns the final grade — Like New, Excellent, or Good. The Certification Card is printed with the exact battery health %, cycle count, cosmetic notes, inspection date, and the technician's initials. The card ships in the box with the device.
Step 7 — Pre-listing reset + listing: Device is factory-reset, iCloud / Google account unlinked, all photos / data wiped via secure-erase (Apple Silicon uses hardware key destruction; Android uses encrypt-then-erase). The cleaned device is photographed for the listing and goes live with its grade, price, and Certification Card details visible to buyers.
